Mystery shop of dentists and hospital dental provision

Healthwatch City of London has carried out a survey of dentist and hospital dental services in the City and Hackney between 20th – 22nd May, the aim of the survey was to ascertain the advice being given to patients in light of Covid-19.

Between 20th and 22nd May an Associate Board Member at Healthwatch City of London undertook a mystery shopper survey, twenty three dental practices and hospital dental departments were contacted within the City of London and Hackney areas. There were reasonable conversations with fifteen of them; one brief conversation and a referral to a website; five had answerphone messages, two of which had extension phone numbers, which did not respond; and two practices did not respond at all. Since this survey was conducted, NHS England’s Chief Dental Officer asked all dental practices to start opening from Monday 8th June. A follow up survey has since been completed, the details and findings are available here.
