Mental Health and Wellbeing during the pandemic

Today Healthwatch City of London is launching our campaign to understand the effect of the COVID -19 pandemic on the residents, workers and students of the City of London’s mental health and wellbeing.

The campaign aims to gain insight into the effect on our community but also on the support offered by service providers during the pandemic.

We are carrying out a survey and holding focus groups for a more in depth look at the issues raised. To let us know of your experience please complete our survey https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HWCoLmentalhealthandwellbeing

To get involved in the focus groups, which will be held on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd October please email rachel@healthwatchcityoflondon.org.uk or call on 020 3745 9563.

Flu vaccination at the Neaman Practice

The Neaman Practice are currently contacting people over 65 via text to book an appointment for a flu vaccination. Their admin team are also working to contact those who do not have mobile numbers to book patients in/invite them.

The Practice are hosting a walk-in clinic from 14:00 -16:30 most weekdays, although this can get very busy.

Flu vaccinations for all other eligible groups will commence from 5th October.

Vaccinations for housebound patients are being organised by the District Nurses Team, with a view for vaccinations to take place in October.

Dragon Café in the City

The next virtual Dragon Café in the City is taking place on Wednesday 16 September. The session is free and open to anyone working or living in the City and provides a space for them to release the pressure, take a break from their busy routines and engage in creative activities designed to foster positive mental and physical wellbeing. The programme includes a comic-making workshop, dance session, a TED talk on “happy maps” and Yoga. For more information please visit their website http://www.dragoncafeinthecity.com/
