Patient Panel - The new cancer wait times standard and the effect on patients in North East London

The new cancer waiting times standard and its effects for patients in the City and North East London. From the 1 October 2023, changes have been made to cancer waiting times with the two week wait standard being removed and the remaining waiting times standards to be rationalised into three core measures. These core measures include, faster diagnosis standard, a 62 day referral to treatment and 31 day decision to treatment. These new measures may seem confusing and we know that you may have many questions in how this will impact you or your family members, therefore we will be joined by Wayne Douglas, who is the lead for diagnosis and treatment at the NHS North East London Cancer Alliance, who will explain these changes and take any questions you may have.
