You can access a wheelchair for long term use through the City and Hackney Wheelchair Service.

They provide equipment (including wheelchairs) to increase both children and adults’ mobility and independence. 

The service specialises in postural and mobility assessment, with team members including, occupational and physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers and technical instructors. 

They also complete powered wheelchair assessments for people with severely restricted mobility who are unable to walk indoors or self-propel a manual wheelchair indoors.
