Your spotlight on local services

Call out to autistic City of London residents and their carers

The City and Hackney Autism Alliance Board has launched a fresh drive to involve more autistic residents and carers in writing a local autism strategy.

The board has set up an 'expert by experience' group which meets monthly to enable autistic residents to help develop a strategy to make the area and services more ‘autism friendly.’

The group is also developing ways to foster engagement with autistic City and Hackney residents that does not necessarily rely on meeting attendance or verbal communication.

For those happy to attend meetings, the expert by experiene group meets in the Church View room at Clissold House in Clissold Park between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on the following dates:

17 December 2018
28 January 2019
25 February 2019
25 March 2019
30 April 2019 4pm to 7pm – evening meeting
28 May 2019
24 June 2019
29 July 2019

For more information about the group and others ways to get involved email Shabana Aslam at Hackney Council on shabana.aslam@hackney.gov.uk  or email info@healthwatchcityoflondon.org.uk
