New permanent chair of Barts Health NHS Trust

The details of the appointment are in the copied message below.

Dear colleague,

I am delighted to inform you that Ian Peters has been appointed as permanent chair of Barts Health NHS Trust.

Ian is the outgoing chair of one of London’s largest housing associations, Family Mosaic, and will be standing down as a non-executive director at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.  He will lead our board from 1 April 2017.

I am delighted that Ian will be joining us. He brings a wealth of experience that can really help us build on our recent progress. After a successful career in financial services and energy, Ian retired in 2015 from Centrica, the parent company of British Gas, where he held a number of senior roles including managing director. He is chair of British Gas Services Ltd, a trustee and treasurer of the charity Carers UK and is involved with a number of small technology companies.  Ian will also take on the role of vice chair of the Peabody housing association when it merges with Family Mosaic this summer

Ian takes over from Alastair Camp, who has been acting chair since October 2016. Alastair will continue in his role as vice chair. On behalf of my executive team I would like to thank Alastair for the leadership he has shown over the last six months. I look forward to continuing to work with him, Ian and the rest of the board to make sure our patients receive safe and compassionate care.

I know Ian is looking forward to meeting and building relationships with all our partners once he has joined and I am confident that together we can ensure Barts Health goes from strength to strength.

Best wishes,

Alwen Williams

Chief Executive

Barts Health NHS Trust
