Co-production Charter now available as Easy Read
We're pleased to share the first Easy Read of the Co-production Charter for Health and Social Care in Hackney and the City of London.
We hope this document will make co-production accessible to wider groups of Hackney and City residents. Co-production is about organisations working together with people to improve services.
The Easy Read version was developed collaboratively with a group of local residents with learning disabilities through HIVE (Hackney Informed Voices Enterprise).
The co-production charter was developed by local Healthwatch and residents. In November 2017, it was endorsed by the main local health and care organisations: City and Hackney NHS clinical commissioning group, Hackney Council, City of London Corporation, Homerton hospital, East London Foundation Trust and Hackney CVS.
It is the first of its kind in England and sets out the principles for how to co-produce health and care locally including involving people from the start in service redesign and valuing them as equal assets. The charter also says people co-producing services must work together with mutual trust and respect, and share information with wider communities.
